TL;DR:

  • Zcash surged above $1,600 after 21Shares launched Europe’s first ZEC ETP on Euronext Paris and Amsterdam, expanding regulated access for investors.
  • ZEC gained about 43% in seven days and more than 91% over 30 days, sharply outperforming the broader crypto market as trading volume accelerated.
  • Roughly $21.62 million in ZEC positions were liquidated in 24 hours, mostly shorts, showing that leverage is amplifying the breakout and volatility.

Zcash surged above $1,600 after 21Shares launched Europe’s first ZEC exchange-traded product on Euronext Paris and Amsterdam, extending one of the strongest rallies among major cryptocurrencies. CoinMarketCap placed ZEC near $1,622, with the token up almost 8% over 24 hours and its market capitalization above $27 billion. The ETP debut gives traditional investors another regulated route into Zcash while the token continues to outperform the broader crypto market. The physically backed product can be purchased through conventional brokerage accounts, removing the need for investors to directly custody ZEC.

Zcash ETP Adds Fuel to an Already Strong Rally

The 21Shares product carries a 2.5% annual management fee and is backed by the underlying asset, giving investors price exposure through established European exchanges. Its launch follows the expansion of regulated Zcash investment products in the United States, widening the number of channels through which traditional capital can access the privacy-focused cryptocurrency. The timing has reinforced momentum around ZEC as institutional access expands alongside a powerful price breakout. Crypto Economy recently covered the European ETP launch, highlighting the broader push to bring niche crypto assets onto major trading venues.

Zcash surged above $1,600

ZEC’s weekly performance has been especially strong. The token gained about 43% over seven days and more than 91% across 30 days, while the broader crypto market advanced roughly 14% over the same weekly period. Daily trading volume climbed toward $1.77 billion, rising more than 61% from the previous day as price moved between approximately $1,456 and $1,643. The combination of higher volume and strong relative performance shows that Zcash is attracting significantly more market attention than most major crypto assets. The move continues a broader privacy coin rally that has repeatedly placed ZEC at the center of sector momentum.

Leverage has amplified the move as well. Around $21.62 million in ZEC positions were liquidated over 24 hours, with approximately $19.39 million coming from shorts as the token pushed above $1,600. One leveraged trader also opened a 50x long position on 140 ZEC worth about $224,000, illustrating the aggressive speculation surrounding the breakout. The rally therefore combines expanding regulated access with increasingly leveraged trading, creating both stronger momentum and greater sensitivity to reversals. With ZEC back at levels unseen since 2016, the next phase will test whether demand can sustain the advance after such a rapid repricing without triggering a deeper correction afterward.
