TL;DR

  • XRP rose 3.7% on the day and trades at $1.39, while its trading volume surged 153% to $2.7 billion.
  • Analyst Ali Martinez notes that a sustained close above $1.38 would confirm the descending triangle breakout and open the path toward $1.60.
  • Futures volume grew 93.36% in 24 hours: XRP options surged 240% following their launch in the U.S.

XRP recorded one of its most pronounced daily candles since August 23, 2026, according to CoinGecko data. Ripple’s token trades at $1.39 after a 3.7% gain on the day, with volume jumping 153% to approximately $2.7 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. The weekly variation is more modest, just 0.25%, but the intraday price action is drawing market attention.

XRP: Broken Triangle

Technical analyst Ali Martinez posted on social media that XRP appears to be breaking out of a descending triangle pattern. According to his reading, a sustained close above $1.38 would confirm the breakout and enable an extension of the move toward the triangle’s apex, located at $1.60.

Over the past week, the price had remained compressed within the support range between $1.31 and $1.35. The intraday high reached this Monday was $1.41, which reinforces Martinez’s hypothesis regarding consolidation prior to the breakout.

From a technical standpoint, the Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) on the four-hour chart returned to positive territory, printing +0.08. The price trades approximately two cents above the Double Exponential Moving Average, a signal that some traders interpret as a recovery of buying pressure.

Futures and Options Point Higher

The derivatives market structure supports the bullish thesis. Leveraged traders added $2.86 billion in futures volume, an increase of 93.36% in 24 hours. Options volume, meanwhile, jumped 240% following the launch of XRP options in the United States.

The long-to-short ratio tilted slightly in favor of buyers, with a ratio of 1.0251 according to CoinGlass. Of the $4.57 million liquidated on the day, $2.97 million corresponded to short positions, indicating that sellers absorbed the greater part of the impact.
