TL;DR

  • Odos, the decentralized token swap aggregator, announced the permanent shutdown of its services by July 30, 2026.
  • On July 27, the platform will enter read-only mode; from that day, users will no longer be able to execute new swaps or interactive functions.
  • User funds are not at risk because the protocol is non-custodial, although those who used social login must export their private key before the shutdown.

Odos, the popular decentralized exchange aggregator that allows users to find efficient token swap routes across multiple DEXs and liquidity sources, has announced the permanent shutdown of its operations.

The company behind the protocol announced that on July 27 the application will switch to read-only mode, and that on July 30 all company-operated services will be permanently shut down. New account registration, wallet creation through the platform, and the opening of new limit orders are already disabled.

What the Shutdown Means for Odos Users

The most relevant point for users is that the protocol operates in a non-custodial manner. This means the company never had control over its customers’ funds: assets remain on the corresponding blockchain and are accessible through the wallet connected by the user themselves. Those who operated with self-custody solutions such as MetaMask, Rabby, or Ledger do not need to take any special action, as they will be able to continue managing their assets through any other aggregator or DeFi application.

The situation is different for those who created their wallet directly within the platform through a social login with Google, Apple, or email. For these cases, the team recommends transferring funds to another wallet or exporting the private key before July 30. Instructions to complete that process will remain available on the official page even after the shutdown, although acting beforehand helps prevent unnecessary complications.

The ODOS Token Survives the Shutdown

Regarding the ODOS token, the company clarified that its existence is independent of the aggregator’s operations. The asset lives on the blockchain and the company does not hold custody over it nor acts as its market maker, so the shutdown should not alter its on-chain mechanics. The team also clarified that the Odos DAO operates separately from the company and will communicate any future decisions autonomously.
