TL;DR:

  • Blockchain.com targets a valuation of between $4 billion and $6 billion in a potential IPO in the United States during 2026.
  • The company seeks to raise around $500 million through the offering, according to sources cited by Bloomberg familiar with the plans.
  • The firm already filed a confidential submission with the SEC in May and has operated with adjusted profitability for three consecutive years.

Blockchain.com is targeting an initial public offering (IPO) in the United States with a target valuation of between $4 billion and $6 billion, as reported by Bloomberg citing sources familiar with the plans.

The company seeks to raise approximately $500 million through the listing, although it could opt for a smaller-scale offering depending on market conditions. The terms remain under discussion and could be modified.

The plans are supported by a confidential submission the company filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in May, to execute a Class A ordinary share offering. At that time, the company had not defined the number of shares or the expected price range.

Blockchain.com Leads the Way in Tokenized Markets

Since that submission, the company considerably expanded its product offering. Last week it signed an agreement with the New York Stock Exchange to explore giving its users access to tokenized shares of U.S.-listed companies and ETFs through the NYSE digital platform. Previously, it had extended its partnership with Ondo Finance to offer tokenized shares to eligible European users, after having done so in markets across Africa and South America.

This expansion also reached derivatives and prediction markets. In September, Blockchain.com launched perpetual contracts tied to the valuations of private artificial intelligence companies OpenAI and Anthropic, whose infrastructure is provided by Hyperliquid. In July it partnered with Polymarket to incorporate prediction markets into its application.

Regulations, Agreements and Expansion

On the regulatory and institutional front, the firm obtained in August a definitive VASP custody services license in the Cayman Islands and was admitted into the regulatory incubation program of the Nigerian Securities Commission. It also expanded its institutional payments business to Brazil, using stablecoins for cross-border settlements and dollar liquidity.

Blockchain.com reports more than 95 million wallets, 44 million confirmed accounts and over $1.2 trillion in transactions processed across more than 70 jurisdictions. Founded in 2011, it previously explored an IPO in 2022, when private investors valued it at $14 billion, a figure that dropped sharply.
