TL;DR

  • Ark Invest bought 456,059 Block shares worth about $37.4 million, spreading the position across ARKK, ARKW, and ARKF.
  • The purchase came after Block lifted its 2026 gross-profit outlook to $12.51 billion, reinforcing Ark’s interest in fintech and Bitcoin-linked infrastructure.
  • Ark also added $3.36 million in Circle shares, giving its latest trades a broader digital-asset focus across payments, stablecoins, and Bitcoin.

Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest has added another sizable position in Block, betting on the Jack Dorsey-led payments company as it expands exposure to Bitcoin, fintech, and digital assets. The purchase came as Block shares pulled back, giving Ark another opportunity to add to its position.

Ark bought 456,059 Block shares on Monday for about $37.4 million, according to the firm’s latest trading disclosure. The shares were distributed among the ARK Innovation ETF, ARK Next Generation Internet ETF, and ARK Blockchain & Fintech Innovation ETF. Block closed at $82.02, down 1.85% for the session.

The buying follows a stronger operating update from Block. In its second-quarter results, the company reported $3.17 billion in gross profit, a 25% increase from a year earlier. Cash App generated $1.97 billion in gross profit, while Square produced $1.16 billion. Block also raised its 2026 gross-profit forecast to $12.51 billion, representing projected annual growth of 21%.

Block Gains More Weight In Ark’s Crypto Strategy

The investment is notable because Block sits at the intersection of conventional payments and Bitcoin infrastructure. Dorsey has long supported Bitcoin, while Block operates Cash App, Square’s merchant ecosystem, and Bitcoin-related products, including mining hardware. Cash App also expanded stablecoin functionality during the second quarter, adding another link between Block’s consumer payments business and onchain finance.

Block is also using artificial intelligence to reshape its cost structure. In February, Dorsey announced cuts affecting more than 4,000 employees, reducing the workforce from above 10,000 to fewer than 6,000. The company framed the restructuring around smaller teams and greater use of AI tools.

Ark Invest bought 456,059 Block shares worth about $37.4 million, spreading the position across ARKK, ARKW, and ARKF.

Circle Purchase Broadens Digital Asset Exposure

Ark also bought 35,192 shares of Circle Internet Group through its fintech ETF. The position was worth about $3.36 million at Monday’s close, when Circle shares gained 9.65% to $95.55.

The simultaneous purchases give Ark exposure to different parts of the digital-asset economy, from Bitcoin infrastructure to stablecoins. Circle’s USDC is increasingly used for digital payments, while Block is bringing Bitcoin and stablecoin capabilities closer to mainstream financial applications.
