Under the framework agreed upon by Tether and the participating entities, undergraduate students in STEM fields from Tbilisi State University will complete a semester at Singapore Management University, where they will develop practical skills, professional networks, and career-oriented perspectives.
The program’s private funding removes any economic obstacle, and scholar selection will be based exclusively on academic merit.
Tether Shapes the Future of Innovation
Starting in 2027, selected scholars will participate in academic programs, industry engagement activities, mentorship sessions, and a final project focused on strengthening the fintech corridor between Georgia and Southeast Asia.
Upon completion, participants will present their recommendations to leaders from GFTN, Pave Bank, and Tbilisi State University. Those who complete the program may receive internship offers from collaborators and gain access to GFTN’s global Knowledge Circle.
Merit and Educational Democratization
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, stated that “the future of financial innovation will be shaped by the talent we cultivate today” and emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for young people who can drive meaningful change.
Salim Dhanani, CEO and co-founder of Pave Bank, underscored that the program was designed around a single principle: aptitude, with no other conditioning factors.
For his part, Sopnendu Mohanty, CEO of the GFTN Group and former Chief FinTech Officer of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, stated that the initiative aims to build global talent corridors that accelerate financial innovation and economic growth.
