TL;DR

  • Samsung will announce stablecoin support in its wallet, becoming one of the first mobile brands to integrate native digital assets.

  • The company did not reveal which stablecoins it will support, nor launch dates nor the partners involved in the planned integration.

Samsung announced during its annual Galaxy Unpacked presentation that Samsung Wallet will incorporate support for stablecoins. The company seeks to expand its mobile payments platform and offer crypto assets. Lee Dinham, product manager at the South Korean firm, was the one who previewed the news and defined the scope of the expansion.

“Samsung Wallet will go beyond cash and savings. It will embrace new forms of digital value, including stablecoins,” Dinham said during the event. The executive added that this would position the company as “one of the first major mobile brands to bring native stablecoins to a smartphone, offering fast and reliable digital value transfers.”

Samsung Wallet: Engine of Financial Expansion

The company did not reveal which stablecoins it plans to integrate, nor a concrete launch date nor the partners that will participate in the development of the functionality.

The company aims to consolidate payments, rewards, and digital assets within a single mobile ecosystem. The wallet already features payment cards and loyalty programs. It also recently introduced the Galaxy Card, which adds another layer to that expanding financial ecosystem.

In October 2025, Samsung strengthened its alliance with the American exchange Coinbase, allowing Galaxy users in the United States to purchase cryptocurrencies directly from the wallet on their mobile devices. That integration initially targeted more than 75 million Galaxy users in the country, with plans to expand further in subsequent stages.

The incorporation of stablecoins is the company’s bet to move toward the integration of blockchain-based assets within its mobile platform. Many major technology manufacturers are increasingly encroaching on the digital financial ecosystem. And Solana Mobile will start facing more and more competitors.
