PancakeSwap has urged CAKE holders on opBNB to bridge their tokens to another network before November 23 at 00:00 UTC. The warning follows LayerZero’s decision to end offchain support for opBNB, which will discontinue the LayerZero-powered CAKE bridging route from the network. The change affects only CAKE holders on opBNB and does not mean CAKE or the opBNB network is being discontinued.
Users are instructed to connect the wallet holding CAKE on opBNB to PancakeSwap’s official bridge, select opBNB as the source network, choose a destination network and confirm the transfer. The decentralized exchange recommends completing the process well ahead of the deadline to allow sufficient transaction processing time. After the cutoff, the current LayerZero-powered route will no longer support moving CAKE out of opBNB.
The key deadline is November 23 at 00:00 UTC, when support for the existing route ends. Holders who still keep CAKE on opBNB after that point will no longer be able to use this specific LayerZero-powered bridge path. PancakeSwap also warned users to rely only on official links and never share seed phrases with accounts offering bridging assistance.
