Ondo Finance introduced Intelligent Portfolios, a suite of investment portfolios designed institutionally and each available as a single onchain token.
The first three products were developed based on portfolio strategies that BlackRock created specifically for Ondo, marking the first time this type of strategy has been made available to onchain investors.
This product is part of the platform’s roadmap. The company had previously advanced accessibility to yield-bearing dollars through USDY, to U.S. equities and ETFs via its Stocks platform, and to capital-efficient derivatives through Perps. With Intelligent Portfolios, the focus shifts from access to individual assets toward access to complete financial services.
Ondo Intelligent Portfolios: One Decision, an Entire Portfolio
Each Intelligent Portfolio operates in three layers. First, a third party—in this case BlackRock—provides the allocation strategy. Then, Ondo implements that strategy programmatically through smart contracts that define the allocation, rebalancing, and fee logic. The end result is a single token that the user can mint or redeem without needing to monitor or adjust positions.

The underlying assets are Ondo Stocks, meaning equities and tokenized ETFs backed by real securities with real market liquidity. Rebalancing follows predefined rules on a fixed schedule, eliminating human intervention and emotional exposure to portfolio decisions.
The three initial portfolios are BLKHIon (global high income), BLKDIGon (diversified growth), and BLKGRWon (high growth), all operated under exclusive strategies developed by the world’s largest asset manager.
The Convergence of DeFi and TradFi
Unlike traditional ETFs, these portfolios operate 24 hours a day, are transparent onchain, and are not limited by geography or market hours. Unlike the real-world asset vaults typical of the DeFi ecosystem, they include equity exposure and have no exit queues.
Furthermore, being tokens, Intelligent Portfolios can act as collateral in lending positions or perpetual derivatives, be integrated into yield products, or even combined with one another to build more sophisticated portfolios. Ondo plans to incorporate additional assets in the future, such as options, futures, and prediction market positions, all within a single token.
