TL;DR
- Michael Saylor responded to a viral AI video involving Tom Lee with another AI-generated clip.
- The Strategy chairman used the joke to reinforce his Bitcoin-first position.
- Lee, who has argued that Ethereum could eventually overtake Bitcoin, responded with laughing emojis, keeping the exchange playful rather than turning it into a serious dispute over crypto’s leading networks.
Michael Saylor has joined a viral crypto joke involving Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee, turning an AI-generated confrontation into another opportunity to promote Bitcoin.
Sorry, @fundstrat. There is no second best. pic.twitter.com/NIME4qTP2U https://t.co/3TG7Vm6fTj
— Michael Saylor (@saylor) August 28, 2026
The Strategy chairman shared an AI-generated video on X on Friday after an earlier clip featuring a synthetic version of Lee interacting with Saylor attracted more than 500,000 views. Saylor accompanied his response with a short message aimed at Fundstrat, repeating one of his most recognizable Bitcoin arguments.
The video portrays an AI-generated Saylor walking through Times Square while describing Bitcoin as “apex property,” “perfected money,” and “the best asset.” The clip then turns into an exaggerated physical confrontation, with the synthetic Saylor striking and pushing the Lee character across the scene.
Lee appeared to take the exchange in good humor, replying to Saylor’s post with laughing emojis. The interaction has added a lighter dimension to an ongoing debate between two prominent crypto voices with different views about Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Michael Saylor Uses AI Video To Defend Bitcoin
Saylor has spent years positioning Bitcoin as a distinct asset class rather than simply another cryptocurrency. His company, Strategy, has also made Bitcoin accumulation a central part of its corporate strategy, giving Saylor an unusually direct financial connection to the asset.
The latest video follows that same approach, although this time through satire. Instead of presenting charts, adoption figures or corporate treasury arguments, Saylor used an AI-generated skit to repeat his belief that Bitcoin has no direct second-place equivalent.
Lee takes a different view. The Fundstrat executive remains bullish on Bitcoin but has repeatedly argued that Ethereum could eventually outperform BTC and become a major infrastructure layer for real-world applications. His thesis focuses heavily on Ethereum’s smart-contract capabilities and the possibility that financial institutions have not fully priced in the network’s long-term utility.

Bitcoin And Ethereum Keep Drawing Different Investment Cases
The exchange highlights a broader distinction within the crypto market. Bitcoin continues to attract investors seeking a scarce digital asset, while Ethereum offers programmable infrastructure for decentralized applications, tokenized assets and financial products.
Both positions can coexist as the sector expands. Bitcoin’s fixed supply and growing institutional exposure support its role as a monetary asset, while Ethereum’s development ecosystem gives it a different investment proposition.
