HINC Fund Debuts On Loopscale And Unlocks High‑Yield Access For DeFi Credit

TL;DR:

  • HINC, Neuberger Berman and Securitize’s high-yield tokenized fund, debuts on Loopscale on Solana as collateral in DeFi credit.
  • Eligible users can deposit HINC as collateral to borrow USDG, the stablecoin issued by Paxos, without having to sell their position in the fund.
  • Standard Chartered projects that assets deployed in DeFi could reach $2.7 trillion by 2030, driven by real-world asset tokenization.

The Neuberger Securitize High Income Tokenized Fund (HINC) launched on Loopscale, a lending protocol built on Solana, with data infrastructure provided by RedStone. The integration turns the fund into operational collateral within onchain credit markets, a proposition that takes tokenization beyond the passive storage of traditional assets.

The fund primarily invests in high-yield bonds, along with collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), leveraged loans and other fixed-income instruments. Neuberger Berman acts as sub-adviser to the fund, which operates with broad diversification across issuers, sectors and end markets. Unlike Treasury-type products that dominated the early institutional integrations in DeFi, the fund incorporates a differentiated risk-return profile that until now had scarce onchain representation.

HINC as Collateral: High-Yield Credit Enters the DeFi Ecosystem

Through Loopscale, certain eligible users can deposit HINC as collateral to borrow USDG without liquidating their position in the fund. Loopscale operates with an order book model that offers lending markets with customizable collateral, rates and durations. Mary Gooneratne, founder of Loopscale, noted that the fund incorporates a type of collateral fundamentally different from native crypto assets and short-duration instruments that until now had predominated in Solana’s credit markets.

Securitize, a member of the Global Dollar Network, also enables direct conversion between HINC and USDG, facilitating movement between the tokenized fund and the stablecoin liquidity available in the onchain ecosystem. Peter Jonas, Chief Revenue Officer at Paxos, noted that this integration offers investors an efficient pathway to access dollar-denominated liquidity through leading DeFi protocols.

RedStone operates as the official oracle provider for the fund, supplying the onchain prices that Loopscale uses to value collateral and execute liquidations when defined thresholds are reached. Marcin Kaźmierczak, co-founder and COO of RedStone, noted that reliable valuation infrastructure is indispensable as more complex financial assets enter onchain lending markets.
