The encrypted infrastructure startup Fhenix announced the acquisition of Sunscreen, a pioneering team in fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) within the Web3 ecosystem. As part of the commercial agreement, Sunscreen’s co-founder, Ravital Solomon, will join the ranks of Fhenix to lead the institutional research department.
This strategic consolidation responds to the growing demand for quantum-safe privacy from large financial institutions operating with stablecoins and tokenized assets on public networks. With active solutions on Arbitrum and Base, the integration of technical resources will allow the scaling of confidential computing to mass markets against highly capitalized competitors.
Once the team is unified, they will focus on accelerating the development of their BFV and TFHE cryptographic architecture. This merger consolidates the creation of a fully secure and quantum-resistant privacy layer for the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
