The Binance Blockchain Week is just around the corner with less than 10 days to go. Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange by trade volume is promising a jam-packed event that will happen between the 19th of January and the 22nd this month in Singapore. The event is scheduled to feature two sub-events: the two-day hackathon event called Binance SAFU Hackathon that will lead on the 19th and the 20th while the Binance Conference closes in the final two days. According to previous reports, the event is scheduled to host close to 2,000 attendees from across the globe. The Binance Blockchain Week is expected to bring together industry-leading regulators, investors, academics, entrepreneurs and developers alike with the simple aim of encouraging innovation and sustainable development within the blockchain ecosystem.
Starting off with the SAFU Hackathon, Binance has scheduled a 32-hour round-the-clock hackathon that aims to find solutions for existing blockchain challenges, the leading being the safety of digital assets. The event has been themed ‘Query Platform for Address Security: Is the transaction address you are sending your crypto to SAFU?’ SAFU stands for Secured Assets For Users. Hosted at the PwC Singapore, Marina One East Tower, the Hackathon event will feature esteemed panel judges including representatives from PwC, Tribe Accelerator, and Binance Labs. Participants of this hackathon will have access to mentorship opportunities from teams provided by event sponsors such as the Ethereum Foundation, Primitive Ventures, Earn.com, Binance Labs and IDEO CoLab.
Next up after the hackathon will be the two-day conference that will be held on the 21st and 22nd of January at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands. The event planners have scheduled more than 70 speakers including high profile industry experts and enthusiasts. The event is organized into keynote speeches, panel discussions as well as fireside chats and networking sessions. Some confirmed speakers include Eric van Miltenburg who is the Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Ripple; Justin Sun the Founder of TRON; Da Hongfei, from NEO; Patrick Dai, Founder of Qtum; and Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the Founder and CEO of Binance. During the announcement of the event last year in December, CZ said:
“We are thrilled to host the first-ever Binance Blockchain Week in Singapore, the finance and technology hub of Asia.” He added that “Gathering the most notable players and thought leaders in blockchain, this will be a defining event. We look forward to many thought-provoking discussions and debates on how we can further work together to move the industry forward.”
