The Layer-1 blockchain Cardano is on the verge of executing its V11 upgrade, dubbed the “van Rossem” hard fork. According to recent ecosystem data, industry giants Binance and Coinbase confirmed they are operationally ready to support this crucial technological shift.

This “intra-era” hard fork aims to optimize the network’s infrastructure without causing fragmentations or severe disruptions to the main chain. Its implementation promises to drastically lower the execution cost of smart contracts and introduce advanced zero-knowledge (ZK)-ready cryptography capabilities, serving as a direct bridge toward the future Dijkstra era.

With 88% of weekly blocks mined under the new node software and the minimum voting thresholds reached by delegated representatives (DReps) and stake pool operators (SPOs), the network displays massive consensus. The next definitive step requires solely the signature and formal approval of the decentralized Constitutional Committee to activate the final deployment on the mainnet.
