TL;DR
- Binance Pay has introduced AI agent payments for purchases and services, starting with hotel bookings through Travala.
- Users can pre-authorize USDT payments from self-custody wallets, allowing AI agents to complete transactions on BNB Chain.
- Travala provides access to more than 2.2 million accommodations and offers up to 10% cashback in BNB and AVA on first bookings that meet the eligibility requirements.
Binance announced that its Binance Pay service will allow artificial intelligence agents to make payments for real-world services, starting with hotel bookings through Travala.
The integration uses Binance x402 infrastructure and allows users to pre-authorize payments in USDT from a self-custody wallet. The AI agent can then complete the transaction without requiring another confirmation.
Transactions are settled on BNB Smart Chain, while Binance Pay handles execution and covers network fees. Users do not need to enter banking details or manage gas fees.
Binance Integrates Automated Payments Into Travala Hotel Bookings
The collaboration allows users to search and book from more than 2.2 million accommodations through the travel platform’s AI assistant.
Users authorize the payment, specify their destination and travel dates, and select their accommodation. From that point, the agent completes the booking, while Binance Pay processes the transfer of funds.
To execute transactions, the system uses an EIP-712 Permit2 authorization, whose signature is verified before payment instructions are submitted.
The protocol also checks the available balance, wallet permissions, and transaction parameters. Once settlement is complete, it generates a receipt recorded on the blockchain.
Users Can Receive Up to 10% Cashback
The exchange announced a promotion for users making their first hotel booking through Travala’s AI agent.
Eligible users can receive 7% cashback in BNB, while qualifying AVA Smart members can earn an additional 3% in AVA.
The promotion applies to bookings of at least $400, subject to the applicable terms and eligibility requirements.
The service is part of Binance Agent Pay, the infrastructure the company is developing to allow applications and AI agents to execute pre-authorized payments.
Under this integration, BNB Chain provides the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) software development kit, while the exchange handles transaction execution and settlement.
For now, the feature is available for hotel bookings. The company said it plans to add other travel products and expand these payments to more digital and commercial services.
