Thomas “Tom” Lee, the company’s chairman, noted that in July ETH outperformed the Nasdaq 100 by 2,500 basis points, the widest margin since July 2025, and that historical patterns suggest that kind of relative performance tends to be followed by a strong appreciation of BMNR shares versus ETH itself over the following two months.
Bitmine: Institutional Staking and Record Buyback
The MAVAN platform (Made in America Validator Network), launched during 2026, concentrates 5.06 million staked ETH, valued at $9.8 billion at current market price. The seven-day yield stands at 2.63% annualized, with projected income of $257 million per year. MAVAN aims to expand toward custodians, institutional investors and partners within the Ethereum ecosystem.
In addition, Bitmine repurchased 3 million shares in the last week and has accumulated 19.1 million of its own shares acquired since July 2026 under its authorized $4 billion program, the largest buyback recorded by any company with digital asset treasury strategies. The company’s stock was added to the Russell 1000 Large-cap index on June 26, 2026.
Lee also referenced the macroeconomic context: the probability of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September fell from 75% to 40% in two weeks, which Bitmine interprets as a tailwind for cryptocurrencies. Among the institutional investors backing the firm are ARK Investment Management, Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital, Founders Fund and Kraken, among others.
