Kraken and Tempo Join Forces on Global Stablecoin Infrastructure

Kraken and Tempo Join Forces on Global Stablecoin Infrastructure
Table of Contents

Kraken became the first U.S. centralized exchange to partner with Tempo, the layer-1 blockchain designed specifically for stablecoin payments and incubated by Paradigm and Stripe. Through this alliance, it will gain access to the exchange’s full institutional stack—liquidity, on/off-ramps, qualified custody, listings and OTC execution—through a single commercial relationship for payment teams and stablecoin issuers building on Tempo.

As part of the agreement, USDT0 and USDC.e deposits and withdrawals are already live on Kraken through Tempo, making the exchange the first major U.S. operator to provide native support for the network. Qualified custody will be handled by Kraken Financial, a Wyoming Special Purpose Depository Institution, covering stablecoin reserves, operational treasuries and protocol assets under one of the most robust regulatory frameworks available in the United States.

The model seeks to consolidate into a single relationship what typically requires five separate conversations with different providers: spot and OTC liquidity in stablecoin and major asset pairs, on/off-ramps via UI, API or direct integration, priority access to the exchange’s listings team and distribution to millions of verified users.
