Verge launched version 26.5 of its XVR mobile wallet for Android, an update that will redefine the user experience in crypto wallets focused on privacy.
Among the most significant changes in Verge is the native integration of TOR directly within the application, which eliminates the need for external tools such as Orbot. The result is a simpler setup, faster access and privacy enabled by default from the very first use.
The new version also incorporates Web3 domain support through Unstoppable Domains, allowing users to send funds via human-readable names instead of lengthy alphanumeric addresses. Added to this is a complete interface redesign, featuring modern animations, a revamped address book, improved QR scanning and a real-time display of connection status and network synchronization. The underlying infrastructure was also updated, carrying out migrations of deprecated dependencies and compatibility with Gradle 9.4.1.
A distinctive aspect of version 26.5 is that the XVR codebase not only powers Android phones, but also Meta VR devices and wearables from the same company, establishing Verge as one of the few blockchain projects with active integration in spatial computing platforms. The update is already available on the Google Play Store.
