The Canton Foundation approved a grant of nearly 15.8 million Canton Coin (CC), worth approximately $1.55 million, to fund the development of a pricing tool by RedStone for financial institutions operating on Canton Network.
The project, called the Canton Access and Privacy Standard (CAPS), will allow institutions to use shared market prices to value transactions without revealing the amounts agreed between counterparties to data providers.
The initiative aims to address a challenge in private financial transactions: accessing verifiable pricing information without exposing the commercial terms of individual deals.
Canton to Fund a Privacy-Preserving Pricing Standard
RedStone will develop a system through which data providers publish reference prices that institutions can use to calculate the value of their transactions.
This will allow participants to access market data without disclosing the actual settlement amount to the provider.
The initial project will focus on tokenized funds, private-market assets, and structured financial products, three categories that require pricing data for transactions and valuations.
Both the pricing mechanisms and the licensing module will be released under Apache 2.0, an open-source license that allows other providers to use and adapt the technology.
Viv Diwakar, Head of the Canton Foundation, explained that supporting CAPS is intended to establish a shared privacy and licensing framework so that multiple data providers can offer their services across the network.
RedStone has been providing pricing data on the network since December 2025 and works with participants in its ecosystem, including Temple Digital Group.
More Than 600 Institutional Partners
Canton Coin is trading at around $0.0979, with a market capitalization of approximately $3.91 billion, according to CoinGecko data cited in the announcement.
The token’s trading volume over the past 24 hours stood at approximately $23.23 million.
Canton Network is designed for financial applications that need to combine blockchain transactions with privacy controls for their users.
In May, the network reported that it had onboarded more than 600 institutions, including Goldman Sachs, DTCC, BNY, and Franklin Templeton.
It also reported processing approximately $9 trillion in monthly transaction volume, including activity from institutions using its infrastructure.
CAPS will be developed as an open-source tool that allows different providers to supply reference prices to these applications without accessing the private details of individual transactions.
