Binance expanded its Junior platform with a set of new features aimed at families: cryptocurrency gifts through the Red Packet system, payments at selected merchants, and educational tools integrated directly into the application.
The platform, originally launched in December 2025, is designed for minors between 6 and 17 years old and operates under full parental supervision. Its purpose is to introduce children and teenagers to the world of digital asset savings and financial education within a controlled environment.
With Binance Junior, parents can enable Red Packet crypto gifts and supervised spending, so kids enjoy what they love with built‑in limits and family‑first controls.
Age‑inappropriate categories (alcohol, tobacco, gambling) are blocked for Juniors.

Limits, Controls and a Wallet for Every Age
The update allows parents to enable P2P transfers and gifts via Red Packet from adult Binance accounts to Junior accounts. Family members and family friends can also send cryptocurrencies directly to minors’ wallets, although the system imposes an annual receiving limit of $12,000 across combined transfers and gifts. Once that threshold is reached, accounts will not be able to receive new transfers until the next cycle.
Parents retain full control over which features to enable or disable, and also have access to account activity through the platform’s interface.
The Merchant Pay feature allows Junior users to make payments at selected merchants, but has active restrictions on categories of establishments such as gambling and tobacco. The feature is designed to offer a hands-on experience in managing digital funds without leaving a controlled system.
Binance Teaches Crypto from Scratch with a Book
As part of the update, Binance integrated its illustrated eBook “ABCs of Crypto” directly into the application. It is optimized for mobile devices and explains fundamental cryptocurrency concepts in terms accessible to children and teenagers.
Yi He, co-CEO of Binance, underlined that many of the new features emerged from community feedback. “It is important that our children are prepared for a future where digital finance plays a vital role,” she stated. According to the executive, the platform’s goal is to make teaching and learning about crypto as a family easier and more enjoyable, always within a safe environment.
