Binance announced today the appointment of its co-founder Yi He as co-CEO, formally elevating her to a shared leadership role alongside current chief executive Richard Teng. The announcement was made on stage at Binance Blockchain Week, where Teng noted that Yi He has been ā€œan integral part of the executive leadership team since the launch of Binance.ā€

According to the company, Yi He will contribute strategic direction in community expansion and product innovation, while Teng brings experience from regulated financial markets. Prior to the appointment, He served as chief marketing officer and has led Binance Labs since 2022. She also co-founded OKX in 2014 and played a central role in Binance’s business, branding, and corporate development.

Teng became CEO in November 2023 following Changpeng Zhao’s resignation. His background includes 13 years at the Monetary Authority of Singapore and earlier work at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Binance said the dual leadership structure strengthens its capacity to scale institutional services, after recent initiatives such as custodian partnerships, concierge programs for family offices, and a crypto-as-a-service solution for licensed financial institutions.
