X Internet Unlimited Company and X Corp. filed a September 17 claim in England and Wales against Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa and unidentified account operators, alleging a coordinated scheme to manipulate engagement and collect creator-revenue payments. X says the network used multiple accounts, including Bitcoin-themed profiles such as @TrendingBitcoin and @Bitcoin_Teddy, to manufacture the appearance of genuine engagement.
The complaint alleges the defendants repeatedly liked, reposted and duplicated one another’s content, sometimes publishing identical material within minutes or seconds. X says the scheme generated more than £207,000 in payouts, while additional accounts were used to keep revenue flowing if one profile was suspended. Those allegations have not been adjudicated, and the defendants’ liability remains for the court to determine.
X suspended the defendants’ accounts on August 18 and is seeking repayment of funds, damages, restitution, interest and costs. The next step is the court process surrounding X’s fraud, conspiracy, unjust-enrichment and breach-of-contract claims, with the company also estimating at least £75,000 in investigation and remediation costs beyond the disputed payouts.
