Strategy resumed its bitcoin purchases after nearly three weeks, carrying out the acquisition of 950 BTC for approximately $75.7 million, at an average price of $79,670 per coin.
The operation covered the period between September 14 and 20, according to a Form 8-K filed with the SEC.

The purchase was funded with the company’s USD cash reserve. During the same week, the firm also repurchased 1.77 million STRC preferred shares for around $174 million from that same reserve, and allocated an additional $57.4 million toward dividend payments on its preferred shares and interest on outstanding debt. As of the close of September 20, the USD reserve balance stood at around $5.04 billion, while USD cash reached $1.05 billion.

Strategy Controls More Than 4% of Bitcoin’s Total Supply
With this purchase, Strategy totals 846,000 BTC acquired at a cumulative cost of $63.81 billion, at an average price of $74,417 per unit. At current prices, that portfolio represents approximately $71.9 billion in market value, implying paper gains of roughly $8.1 billion. The position is equivalent to more than 4% of the maximum supply of 21 million bitcoin.
Michael Saylor, co-founder and executive chairman of the company, previewed the announcement on Sunday with his customary post on X: a bitcoin acquisition chart accompanied by the message “A little more orange,” a formula that in previous weeks had also preceded the respective official purchase announcements.
Strategy shares rose 7% in pre-market trading ahead of Monday’s open. At the same time, Bitcoin climbed to $84,500, posting a gain of 4.5% over the past 24 hours. Shares closed the previous Friday at $153.92, with a weekly gain of 16.4%, although they still carry a decline of 54.2% over the past year.
