Circle announced the activation of native USDC and version 2 of its cross-chain transfer protocol (CCTP V2) on World Chain, following an upgrade that replaced bridged USDC with a native version without altering its contract address. This change preserves existing integrations without requiring action from developers or users, streamlining the transition and maintaining compatibility with current applications.

The new native USDC is fully backed by US dollars and complies with all applicable regulations, making it a practical option for trading, payments, and financial services. In addition, Circle Mint provides institutional on- and off-ramps to convert fiat currency into USDC directly on World Chain, enabling authorized businesses to operate at scale.

World Chain Integrates USDC into its Mini Apps

World Chain also added native USDC support for its Mini Apps, which can now offer functionalities like peer-to-peer payments, stablecoin savings, and e-commerce on a trusted and recognized infrastructure. It also incorporates identity verification through World ID, making it possible to restrict transactions to validated users — reducing fraud and preventing identity spoofing.

Since its launch, applications like World App, Morpho Labs, BitGo, and Uniswap have already started operating with native USDC on this network. It’s become an essential tool for users looking to move capital securely and efficiently, as well as for institutional clients and developers.
