As a major player in the cryptocurrency and blockchain sector, Huobi Group has been working on promoting the advancement of the industry. Huobi has signed an MOU with the University Of Gibraltar in its bid to help equip entrepreneurs and experts in the blockchain space with skills.
According to the contents of the MOU, parties have agreed to channel their resources into developing educational courses aimed at researching the blockchain space. However, their MOU points to the parties leaning towards educating players. With Huobi University already having blockchain-based classes, the groundwork for its partnership with the University of Gibraltar isn’t needed.
Huobi University had its course up and running in South Korea, Japan, the United States, and China. Through its educational program, it was able to train 1000 experts in the blockchain space. However, its MOU with the University of Gibraltar is still of great importance.
“Our MOU with the University Of Gibraltar is an important one since it will help us make Huobi University an international entity. Together we will launch English oriented courses for both investors and entrepreneurs.” Dr. Yu Jianing, President of Huobi University.
On the other hand, Gibraltar’s Minister for Commerce Albert Isola MP said;
“For Gibraltar, we are delighted we are part of this initiative of accelerating the development and delivery of high-quality blockchain-focused courses. Since both institutions have the same goals, we look forward to ensuring the success of this collaboration.”
Contents of the MOU
According to the agreement, the parties will work together to promote collaboration in education and also work alongside each other when carrying out academic research.
Similarly, the universities will also work together on the development and collaboration of academic programmes. They will also work alongside each other to create and deliver short courses in fintech, crypto-technology, and blockchain field.
For Huobi, this partnership marks its second entry into Gibraltar while still strengthening its network in the country. Huobi is a proud holder of a full DLT license issued to it by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) in 2018.
