Coinbase plans to increase its Singapore workforce to about 200 employees by the end of 2026, up from roughly 150, country director Hassan Ahmed said July 22. The exchange also opened a new office at One Raffles Quay, making Singapore a larger operating hub for Coinbase’s Asia-Pacific expansion.
Hiring is expected to focus on engineering, customer service, relationship management and institutional sales. The expansion comes despite broader global restructuring, including a 14% workforce reduction announced in May, while local regulatory clarity and rising institutional demand continue to support Coinbase’s investment case for Singapore.
Coinbase has held a Major Payment Institution licence under Singapore’s Payment Services Act since October 2023 and has expanded work involving XSGD and stablecoin payment infrastructure. The next test is whether the new office can convert strategic confidence into operational scale as the planned 50 hires deepen Coinbase’s regional execution.
