Coinbase and Checkout.com announced a partnership to integrate stablecoin payments across the payment processor’s network of more than 1,000 enterprise clients. Starting June 2, 2026, eligible merchants will be able to receive payments in USDC or USDT directly through Checkout.com’s platform, with no separate integration required. Settlement for merchants will continue to be processed in dollars through the processor’s traditional channels.
The integration will connect Coinbase Payments’ infrastructure with Checkout.com’s system, removing the technical complexities that have historically halted stablecoin adoption at corporate scale. According to Visa data cited in the announcement, stablecoin transaction volume reached $10.2 trillion over the last twelve months, representing a 63% year-over-year increase.
Coinbase Payments handles the payment experience for both buyers and merchants through its acceptance APIs. The company holds regulated infrastructure in nearly 50 countries and over 14 years of asset custody history. The partnership targets markets where card access is uneven or where local currencies present higher volatility, expanding merchants’ reach toward users who already operate with crypto assets and other digital assets.
