Bybit announced the integration of UBS’s tokenized uMINT fund, enabling traders to use it as trading collateral on its platform.

Launched in November 2024 by UBS Asset Management, the uMINT fund is a low-risk money market fund built on the Ethereum blockchain and backed by short-term U.S. Treasury debt. It is designed for accredited and institutional investors, offering secure exposure to money markets while providing the flexibility to use it as collateral in trading operations.

Bybit to Increase Institutional Capital Efficiency

The integration is carried out through DigiFT, a tokenization platform for real-world assets (RWA) based on smart contracts and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. DigiFT is currently the largest distributor by volume of UBS’s tokenized fund. Its collaboration with Bybit will be essential to expand institutional capital into regulated products and increase capital efficiency.

Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit, stated that the partnership will allow investors to use their uMINT holdings as collateral in a safe and efficient manner. Yoyee Wang, head of Bybit’s B2B unit, highlighted that the collaboration will provide institutional clients with access to a high-quality product backed by a recognized financial brand, complemented by the platform’s robust liquidity and settlement infrastructure.

Henry Zhang, founder and CEO of DigiFT, added that the collaboration demonstrates how regulated RWA infrastructure can improve capital efficiency and bring transparency to the financial markets of the future.
