The official twitter account of the Binance exchange made this announcement on September 9, 2019. The tweet links us to a blog post from Binance which contains an announcement stating that Binance will support the NULS Mainnet 2.0 Upgrade. Withdrawals and deposits of NULS will be suspended on September 11, 2019, 10:00 AM (UTC). The blog post on the Binance’s announcement page reads:
Fellow Binancians, Binance would like to confirm support for the NULS main-net upgrade to v2.0 and will suspend deposits and withdrawals of NULS starting from 2019/09/11 10:00 AM (UTC).
According to the blog post, all the previous NULS deposit addresses will be updated after the NULS main-net upgrade is complete and old NULS addresses will no longer be able to receive NULS. A separate announcement will be made by Binance after completion of the upgrade to notify users when withdrawals for NULS will open.
NULS is the world’s first public chain project that offers micro-service infrastructure incorporated with the blockchain and setting a new industry standard in streamlining blockchain adoption. The launch of NULS 2.0 Mainnet is expected to happen in Q4 of 2019. The design idea for main-net v2.0 was introduced in Q4 2018.
In a blog post on July 26, 2019, the company published details about this upgrade. NULS claimed that they have completed the construction of NULS 2.0 and the main-net will be released soon. This upgrade was to be drilled on test network as this blog post reads:
The specific process of upgrading from the NULS 1.0 to the NULS 2.0 network will be drilled on the test network first, and once complete, will then be implemented on the main network.
This test network upgrade drill was to be completed in 2 phases. At first, the test-net was to be switched from v 1.0 to v 1.3.0. Its main purpose was to upgrade the protocol and when the v 1.3.0 test network stopped packing transaction, the company released NULS 2.0 Beta 2 version and launch the NULS 2.0 test-net.
On August 21, 2019, NULS made an announcement that stated:
We are pleased to inform you that with the cooperation of the NULS community members, the test-net practice drill switching from 1.0 to 2.0 has been completed. Now, the main-net is about to start its 1.0 to 2.0 upgrade procedure. NULS will finally enter the 2.0 era.
After the practice of upgrading test-net, the main-net is also going through same 2 phases which are described earlier for test-net.
