Binance has announced the inclusion of the ZKsync (ZK) token on its platform. The measure will be effective from June 17, 2024, allowing users to trade ZK in various trading pairs, including ZK/BTC, ZK/USDT, ZK/FDUSD, and ZK/TRY. Deposits for the token are already open, and withdrawals will be available starting June 18 at 08:00 am UTC.

In parallel with the listing, the exchange has revealed a ZK token distribution program aimed at users who were not eligible for the official ZK Nation airdrop. The program aims to address concerns and complaints from the community regarding token distribution, offering an opportunity to those who missed the initial airdrop.

The distribution carried out by Binance involves the delivery of 10.5 million ZK tokens to 52,500 eligible users. To qualify, users must meet certain criteria, such as not being eligible for the ZK Nation airdrop and having conducted at least 50 transactions on the ZKsync Era network between February 2023 and March 2024. Additionally, these transactions must have occurred in at least seven different months within the specified period, excluding self-transfers and addresses of contracts, CEX, or bridges.

The first phase of the airdrop will begin on June 25, 2024, and the token distribution will be carried out on a first-come, first-served basis, limiting participation to wallets that meet the specified requirements.

Binance Will Address ZKsync Criticisms

On the other hand, ZKsync has defended the measures implemented to detect and prevent Sybil attacks during its official airdrop, a topic that has been a source of controversy. The platform explained that it used a combination of explicit Sybil detection and a unique airdrop design to ensure that most organic users were rewarded, although they acknowledge that some managed to evade detection due to their sophisticated strategies.

ZKsync emphasizes that its methods aim to balance the exclusion of Sybils without harming legitimate users, using an approach based on on-chain behavior and advanced algorithms to differentiate between real users and bots. Despite their efforts, they admit that detection is not perfect and that some inevitably passed the filters.

In response to these concerns, Binance seeks to complement ZKsync’s efforts by offering an additional airdrop to users. Each eligible user will receive 200 ZK tokens, providing a partial solution to the criticisms regarding the initial distribution.

With the ZK token trading at $0.36 in the pre-market, the community eagerly awaits the next stages of distribution and trading, trusting that these measures will foster more fair and equitable participation.
