TL;DR

  • Ripple announced a partnership with C2FO to use XRP Ledger and the RLUSD stablecoin for commercial invoice financing.
  • C2FO has facilitated more than $250 billion in working capital through its early payment programs. That figure represents historical transactions.
  • The new Instant Pay service will enable the settlement of early payments against approved invoices without changing their original terms. The rollout will be gradual.

Ripple announced a partnership with C2FO to bring commercial invoice financing to XRP Ledger (XRPL) using its RLUSD stablecoin. The initiative aims to reduce settlement times for early payments received by suppliers.

The agreement was announced during Ripple Swell 2026 in New York. C2FO operates a working capital financing platform whose Early Pay programs have facilitated more than $250 billion in early payments since their launch.

RLUSD will be used to settle transactions on XRP Ledger, although the service is not yet available to all customers. C2FO has opened a waitlist and expects to begin a limited rollout over the coming months.

Ripple and C2FO Aim to Accelerate Supplier Payments

In traditional commercial transactions, suppliers often wait 30, 60, or 90 days to receive payment for invoices covering goods or services already delivered.

C2FO already allows suppliers to receive payments earlier through financing arrangements with capital providers. However, even after an early payment is approved, transfers between banks can add several days of waiting.

The new service, called C2FO Instant Pay, aims to shorten that delay. Suppliers will request financing through the platform, while participating capital providers will supply the necessary funds.

Once a payment is approved, RLUSD will enable settlement on XRP Ledger, a network that typically processes transactions in three to five seconds.

The original invoice terms and payment due dates will remain unchanged. The time required for funds to become available in a bank account will also depend on conversion and distribution arrangements.

XRP Ledger to Support Trade Finance Transactions

The $250 billion historically facilitated by C2FO represents its cumulative activity and does not indicate transactions already executed on XRP Ledger or financing commitments involving RLUSD.

According to Ripple, its stablecoin has reached a market capitalization exceeding $2.5 billion, with more than $1 billion issued directly on XRPL.

The company is also developing institutional financing applications through other partnerships. These include Arf, which processes approximately $10 billion in annual payments, and an initiative with Clearpool and Cicada to finance business loans using RLUSD.

The C2FO agreement is also connected to the collaboration between Ripple and BNY, which are exploring tokenized trade finance applications based on receivables.

Unlike those initiatives, Instant Pay is specifically designed to accelerate settlement of the early payments that C2FO already manages through its platform.
