Ripple has partnered with Robinhood to expand the institutional use of RLUSD across trading, treasury operations and financing. Under the agreement described in the announcement, Robinhood and Bitstamp will gain access to RLUSD for institutional settlement, Ripple Treasury for operational workflows and Ripple Prime for financing. The partnership places Ripple’s stablecoin inside a broader institutional financial stack rather than limiting it to crypto trading, extending the Ripple and XRP ecosystem.
Ripple Connects RLUSD With Settlement, Treasury and Financing
Robinhood Crypto executive Johann Kerbrat said the companies are focusing on utility as a driver of stablecoin adoption. The arrangement gives Robinhood’s institutional businesses access to Ripple infrastructure for moving and managing capital across digital-asset markets. RLUSD is being positioned as settlement liquidity within workflows that also include treasury management and financing, complementing Ripple’s existing push into RLUSD-backed institutional trading and credit through Ripple Prime.

Ripple President Monica Long framed the agreement as part of a broader shift in stablecoins from trading instruments toward financial infrastructure. The companies are targeting systems that can operate continuously, improve access to liquidity and make capital available outside conventional banking hours. The Robinhood partnership links RLUSD’s payment function with institutional settlement and financing use cases, building on Ripple’s wider effort to connect RLUSD with short-term settlement liquidity for professional market participants.
The agreement also expands RLUSD distribution across Robinhood’s ecosystem. The stablecoin is set to become available on Robinhood’s trading platform and is already accessible through Bitstamp and Robinhood Chain. CNBC reported that RLUSD’s market capitalization has grown beyond $2.5 billion, although larger stablecoins still dominate the market. Broader availability could increase the number of venues where institutions can access and deploy RLUSD, while Ripple has separately pursued institutional liquidity integrations for tokenized assets. The expansion therefore adds both retail-facing availability and institutional pathways around the same dollar-denominated asset across Robinhood’s broader financial ecosystem.
For Robinhood, the collaboration fits its ambition to combine retail and institutional financial services within a broader platform. Ripple gains another distribution and infrastructure partner for RLUSD, while Robinhood receives access to settlement, treasury and financing tools built around the stablecoin. The deal expands RLUSD’s institutional utility without establishing that financing demand or stablecoin balances will automatically increase. Its commercial impact will depend on how extensively Robinhood and Bitstamp clients use the new services across trading, settlement and capital-management workflows.
