XRP Ledger New Accounts Spike 400%, Signaling Mysterious Network Activity Surge

XRP Ledger Records Substantial XRP Increase Despite Declining Market Liquidity

The XRP Ledger recorded an unusual spike in new account creation during September 2026: 11,432 wallets were registered in a single day, compared to a 30-day average of approximately 2,700, according to XRPScan data.

That represents an increase of more than 400% above the monthly baseline, one of the largest expansions in network activity observed over the past year.

The origin of the spike on the XRP Ledger remains unclear. Exchange infrastructure, wallet migrations, user onboarding to applications, or widespread speculative activity can all trigger mass account creation events. Without identifying the entities responsible for the activations, the data alone does not allow the cause to be determined.

The figure also coincides with changes in XRP’s price. The token recently broke a bearish resistance line, climbing from approximately $1.40 to a local high of $1.65, before pulling back toward $1.46 under selling pressure.

Key support is located between $1.39 and $1.40, where the former resistance converges with the 200-day moving average near $1.36. The structural recovery will remain intact as long as XRP holds that range, although the activity spike on the XRP Ledger should not automatically be interpreted as a signal of bullish demand.
