Kraken has natively integrated a fair value gap (FVG) indicator into its Desktop platform, eliminating the need for third-party scripts to detect these price imbalances.
The tool activates directly from the analysis sidebar and operates in real time across any candlestick chart type and any timeframe, automatically identifying each three-candle imbalance zone.
Kraken’s system includes active filtering by default, which reduces the visual noise that typically turns charts into unreadable structures.
Each detected zone receives a low, medium, or high quality score based on five objective criteria: alignment with higher timeframes, number of retests, relative gap size, volume at formation, and trend direction at that moment. By hovering over any zone, the user can see exactly which criteria determined its score.
The update also incorporates inverse fair value gap (IFVG) detection, a feature specifically requested by the Smart Money Concepts community. Price return alerts are available optionally and trigger the instant price revisits a zone, with a maximum of one notification per zone to avoid saturation.
By default, this feature remains disabled. Approximately 20 customization parameters are currently available, including colors, opacity, and visibility criteria. Detection runs locally: if the Kraken application is closed, tracking is interrupted until it is reopened.
