Monero (XMR) is going through one of its best years, driven by growing demand for privacy-focused assets and technological developments such as the implementation of FCMP++, an upgrade designed to strengthen its anonymity capabilities.
However, XMR also faces media exposure due to its use in illicit operations: last month it was linked to the laundering of $120 million in USDT, and more recently it appeared in a $7.9 million attack on Coinsbuy wallets affecting the Tron and Ethereum networks. Blockchain investigator Specter confirmed that the attacker funneled the stolen funds into Monero through exchanges.
