Bitcoin whales recorded their highest accumulation level in five months, according to onchain data published by CryptoQuant.
Different wallets holding between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC purchased approximately 66,700 BTC over the last 60 days, the highest volume since February 2026. During that period, the price of BTC retested $65,000 and faced a wave of persistent volatility.
Bitcoin Whales Add 66,700 BTC as Mid-Tier Holders Sell Heavily

The divergence between whales and mid-tier holders is highly significant. Wallets storing between 100 and 1,000 BTC sold around 77,800 BTC in the same period, one of the deepest and fastest disinvestment rates recorded in months. The contrast is striking when considering that this same group had accumulated more than 92,000 BTC by the end of April.
Market analysts point out that the coordinated movement among whales suggests a position transfer rather than a generalized selling pressure phenomenon across the market. As mid-tier holders take profits or reduce their exposure, whales absorb the available supply, which could cushion the bearish impact on the price of Bitcoin in the short term.
