PolishĀ lawmakers approved a billĀ backed by the Finance Ministry toĀ implement the EuropeanĀ Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA)Ā framework in Poland. The vote resultedĀ 241 to 200, according to official parliamentary records. This is the government’s third attempt to pass crypto regulation after President Karol Nawrocki vetoed the two previous versions.
The approved bill, identified asĀ number 2529, grants the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) powers toĀ supervise market participants, impose administrative sanctions and temporarily block accounts and transactions. The final text unified that bill along with proposals from the president, the Confederation and an independent parliamentary draft.
Despite the lawmakers’ approval, market analystsĀ anticipate a new presidential veto, given that the provisions on account and domain blockingĀ did not register substantial changesĀ compared to previous versions. The debate was also influenced by the scandal surroundingĀ Zondacrypto, the exchange against which prosecutors launched a fraud investigation.
