The Unicoin Foundation was officially launched, a social impact organization dedicated to the digital economy through financial education, entrepreneurship development, and responsible adoption of blockchain. The announcement was made by Unicoin Inc., headquartered in the United States.
The foundation operates under the “Crypto for Good” initiative and targets historically underrepresented communities in the crypto ecosystem. Its approach prioritizes financial literacy, practical training in artificial intelligence, blockchain and Web3, and support for entrepreneurs through mentorships and startup assistance.
The structure of the new entity aligns with the principles of transparency and responsible governance championed by Paul Atkins, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). More than 4,000 Unicoin shareholders participated in the vote that approved the transition to an independent foundation, with 99% backing.
The entity will be chaired by Robert Newman, one of the company’s largest investors, and will feature a 27-member board elected by shareholder vote. The restructuring also includes the formal separation of management plans between the company and the new foundation, in line with the token taxonomy framework proposed by the SEC.
