In April 2020, Ripple, the enterprise blockchain solution for global payments, hired Vidya Mani, as Vice President of Engineering for its global payment network RippleNet.
Vidya Mani’s role is based in San Francisco, California. She has almost 20 years of experience in payment industries, and that’s what Ripple is looking for RippleNet.
Before joining Ripple, Vidya Mani worked as Director of Engineering for Payments and Data at Braintree Payments, a company focused on building tools for global payments. She also served Thoughts Works, a community of passionate individuals with a mission to revolutionize software design, creation, and delivery, as lead developers.
In a blog post on the Ripple Insight page, she talked about the reasons to join Ripple. About his joining, Vidya said:
“Ripple’s vision is to enable the world to move value like it moves information today—a concept referred to as the Internet of Value (IoV). It’s a goal that is close to my heart. Almost 20 years ago, I immigrated to the United States from India and personally experienced the challenges and expense inherent in sending money home to loved ones. I’m thrilled to be joining Ripple as the VP of Engineering for RippleNet and to partner with my colleagues in helping make this vision a reality.”
RippleNet is a global network that aims to provide a frictionless experience to send money globally. Today’s global payments infrastructure is unable to meet the demands for this generation’s demand for instant, low-cost cross-border payments. RippleNet promises features that include trust, speed, security, and high-quality technology.
According to her, “these aspects are what set Ripple apart in the industry.” She added:
“Ripple’s engineering team has set a high standard of engineering quality to ensure the confidence of our more than 300 customers and their customers worldwide. As companies both large and small shift to a new normal of remote work, this attention to our customer success and team empowerment is critical. Leading agile, distributed engineering employees at Braintree helped shape the way we ran our teams to ensure member inclusion, reduce friction caused by miscommunication, and instill empathy for those in different time zones and schedules.”
She said that at Ripple, every member holds himself responsible and works with other members to find solutions together. All the members of the company are considered stakeholders in the success of business and customers. “To me, that feels like a truly inclusive culture that sets us apart from other companies in our space,” said Vidya Mani.
RippleNet and its On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) services are considered as game-changing projects in the global payment industry that have seen impressive growth since their inception. As Crypto Economy reported, CNBC Disruptor 50 List For the Year 2020 has also named Ripple because of the disruption that RippleNet and ODL have brought to cross-border payments.
