TL;DR
- XRPL Commons launched three grant tracks supporting open-source contributors, early-stage teams, and established projects integrating with the XRP Ledger ecosystem and infrastructure.
- Glow has funded 11 completed technical projects, while Make Waves, The Aquarium, and milestone grants connect early-stage funding with measurable adoption over time.
- The enterprise track targets major integrations such as LOBSTR, as XRPL transaction activity and tokenized real-world assets continue expanding across the network for institutional adoption.
XRPL Commons has introduced a three-track grants program designed to support open-source contributors, early-stage teams, and established blockchain projects building on the XRP Ledger. The initiative arrives as XRPL funding becomes more decentralized, with multiple independent organizations backing developers rather than relying on a single source. The new structure turns fragmented support into a clearer path from contribution to adoption. More than $550 million has been invested in the ecosystem since 2017, while XRPL Commons has already combined education, incubation, funding, and community programs to prepare builders for broader participation under a more coordinated framework.

Three funding tracks connect contributions with adoption
The first track, Glow, rewards completed open-source work instead of financing untested ideas. Eligible contributions include developer tools, core infrastructure, technical documentation, security upgrades, and protocol improvements. Since launching in October 2025, Glow has funded 11 projects covering areas such as node management, transaction analytics, and post-quantum cryptography. The model pays for demonstrated technical value rather than promises. Applications will be reviewed quarterly through December 2026, giving independent developers recurring opportunities to secure support while strengthening shared infrastructure that can benefit applications across the broader XRP Ledger ecosystem over the program’s remaining application cycles worldwide.
The second track focuses on early-stage teams through three connected programs. Make Waves is a 90-day competition rewarding projects that achieve the strongest user growth and onchain activity, while The Aquarium offers a nine-week incubator now expanding online to reach global founders. Early Stage Grants provide milestone-based funding for products already operating on testnet or mainnet. XRPL Commons is linking capital to measurable execution and adoption. The approach also includes technical guidance and go-to-market assistance, creating a progression for teams that need more than funding to convert prototypes into viable network products at commercial scale.
The third track targets established products seeking XRPL integrations, with LOBSTR providing an early example by connecting more than 1.5 million users to the network. XRPL Commons highlights native exchange functionality without MEV or front-running, compliance features, escrow, payment channels, and cross-currency settlement, alongside finality in three to five seconds and minimal fees. The grants program is arriving as network activity and institutional use accelerate. XRPL has processed over 3.7 billion transactions, while tokenized real-world assets reached $2.25 billion, up 124.1% quarter over quarter, reinforcing demand for infrastructure that can support wider financial adoption globally.
