Ripple and quantum security firm Project Eleven announced a collaboration to prepare the XRP Ledger against the threat that quantum computers pose to current cryptographic systems. The initiative includes a full audit of XRP Ledger validators, custody systems, wallets and network layers of the ecosystem, with the goal of moving post-quantum security from the theoretical level toward real implementation.
According to Project Eleven, this is one of the first major industry efforts to produce real code, performance benchmarks in production environments and a roadmap toward deployment. Hybrid signature systems will also be developed combining current cryptographic standards with quantum-resistant protections, along with a secure quantum custody wallet prototype.

Alex Pruden, CEO of Project Eleven, noted that most discussions around the quantum threat to blockchain have remained within the research framework, and that Ripple is approaching it as a practical engineering problem.
The XRP Ledger Foundation highlighted that the network already supports key rotation and coordinated validator updates, which gives it certain structural advantages over other blockchains.
A key point is that users will be able to migrate to quantum-resistant signatures without changing their existing wallet addresses. J. Ayo Akinyele, Director of Engineering at RippleX, stated that the goal is for the XRP Ledger to be production-ready well before quantum threats become a real danger.
