Starknet Names Federation for strkBTC Transfers

Starknet names five institutions for strkBTC launch, enabling BTC bridging with optional privacy and a roadmap toward trustless Bitcoin integration.

Starknet said that five independent institutions will support strkBTC infrastructure at launch, helping move BTC between Bitcoin and Starknet. The Federation includes Twinstake, NEAR Intents, Luganodes, UTXO and Xverse, each operating infrastructure for minting, burning and bridging BTC and strkBTC without custody of user assets.

The setup matters because strkBTC is designed to bring optional privacy features to Bitcoin on Starknet, including shielding balances and transactions while allowing selective disclosure where required. The Federation creates a known operational trust model for early BTC movement while the system moves toward deeper trust minimization.

The next point to watch is the roadmap beyond the Federation. Starknet said Phase 2 adds Bitcoin-native verification techniques including post-quantum security, Phase 3 introduces a trust-minimized BitVM, and Phase 4 aims for a fully trustless OP_CAT design, subject to development, research and governance decisions.
