SpaceX has shown how a major catalyst can quickly change market sentiment. On August 11, the stock gained more than 11% in one day after a leaked all-hands meeting indicated Elon Musk expects AI revenue to surpass other SpaceX business lines, including Starlink and launch services, as early as September.

The following day, Morgan Stanley maintained an overweight rating and published a $600 price target, which would imply an $8 trillion valuation, according to the bank. The episode illustrates why early positioning can matter when a new growth driver emerges. While SpaceX had a market value near $1.8 trillion as of August 12, a much smaller, early-stage crypto project has drawn attention in project materials: BlockDAG (BDAG) Network’s Stage 1 token sale at $0.002 per token.

SpaceX’s Recent Surge Explained

SpaceX listed publicly on Nasdaq under SPCX on June 12, 2026, in what was reported as the largest IPO to date, opening at $135 per share. The stock reached an all-time high of $225.64 before falling roughly 50% in July amid market concerns about cash burn. By August 12, SPCX was trading between $134 and $149, with a market value near $1.8 trillion. It had returned to its IPO price and passed a major lockup expiry on August 6, when insiders sold more than 900 million shares without triggering an immediate market collapse.

The latest rally is linked in reporting and company commentary to SpaceX’s increasing focus on artificial intelligence. xAI compute-leasing agreements with firms including Anthropic and Google have prompted some analysts to raise revenue expectations for AI-related operations relative to Starlink and launch services.

Morgan Stanley’s $600 scenario is based on assumptions such as SpaceX building AI data centers in orbit and expanding Starlink to support a large fleet of AI-enabled devices by 2040; these plans remain long-term and unproven.

Why BlockDAG Is Being Compared

The comparison is about growth stage rather than scale. BlockDAG is not comparable to a trillion-dollar company and there is no verified claim that it will reach that valuation. Instead, observers have noted both projects are at different points on their growth paths: SpaceX is an established company entering a potential new phase, while BlockDAG is an early-stage network with project-reported activity.

According to the project, the BlockDAG Casino is operational and the team reports more than 13,000 registered players. The project also reports a hybrid Proof-of-Work and Directed Acyclic Graph design, claiming throughput of up to 7,000 transactions per second with roughly 2-second confirmation times using GhostDAG consensus, and compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. These performance and usage figures are reported by the project and have not been independently verified.

The team reports a community across more than 130 countries. Stage 1 of BlockDAG’s 25-stage token sale is listed at $0.002 per token in project materials, with planned stage pricing that rises gradually to $0.05 at Stage 25. The project has stated an intended reference launch price of $0.10 and described planned launch liquidity of $100 million; the project explicitly describes these as targets rather than guarantees.

The Numbers Behind a Large Upside Scenario

For context, reaching a price near $0.20 from $0.002 would represent a very large increase and would rely on factors such as adoption, exchange listings, and market conditions that cannot be guaranteed. The Morgan Stanley $600 scenario for SpaceX likewise depends on long-term assumptions about orbital data centers and robotics expansion. Both cases illustrate potential upside under optimistic assumptions, but neither outcome is certain.

The common elements noted by observers are the presence of operating infrastructure, early traction, and potential future catalysts. SpaceX has announced AI compute-leasing agreements, while BlockDAG reports a live Casino, a DAG-based network in operation, and an early-stage token sale.
