Solana, the blockchain behind Solana (SOL), has crowned itself as the first layer 1 blockchain to integrate artificial intelligence through a ChatGPT plugin. Solana, via its Tweet, mentioned that the plugin integrated with the chain is currently available for download on Github, and highlights the ease AI can bring to the chain regarding understanding data and protocols, as well as surface data revolving around Solana’s computing infrastructure and DeFi projects.

The plugin would offer users the ease of buying NFTs, transferring tokens, inspecting all possible transactions, finding NFT collections on floor prices, and much more. The founder of Solana, Anatoly Yakovenko, stated that integration with AI would result to be fruitful for the chain as it would make it easier to use and much more understandable. Furthermore, the masses believe that the integration of Solana with ChatGPT’s AI would stand out from other chains as the low-cost nature of Solana is ideal for AI.
At present, the ChatGPT plugin is reading on-chain data and might play a role in constructing transactions that might be able to run on-chain. Considering how the chain is both cheap and fast, it is expected that people would resort to running these transactions within a ChatGPT loop.
Solana co-founder and Solana Labs CEO, Anatoly Yakovenko stated,
“Every developer building consumer-oriented apps should be thinking about how their app is going to be interacted with through an AI model because this is a new paradigm for telling computers what to do.”
To seamlessly go along with the release of the new plugin, the company also announced an AI accelerator program, targeted towards university students, and a strategic giant program that would boost the usage and the integration of AI on the chain.
Solana Intends to Stay in the Spotlight
The three-month accelerator program includes a full cohort dedicated to experimenting with both blockchain and AI. However, the accelerator program has already started generating results, which also include a chatbot.
The chatbot is responsible for answering all possible questions revolving around Solana’s development and assists in helping to find the right documentation about the chain. At the same time, the blockchain Audits AI is also a part of the accelerator program, which has been specially designed to enhance the security of Solana-based programs.
Moreover, a series of projects within the Solana ecosystem has started to harness the power of artificial intelligence to greatly improve their offerings. The chain also announced that it had increased the total amount for AI grants to $10 million, which used to be a mere $1 million previously.
