Coinbase Class A Common Stock to Start Trading on NASDAQ on April 14

Diginex Limited, a Hong Kong-based a digital assets financial services company the operator of Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange, has become the first Nasdaq-listed company that also has a crypto exchange.

Diginex Limited announced the in a press release published on Thursday, October 1. The company’s cryptocurrency exchange will be traded on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol EQOS and warrants under the ticker EQOSW, where it will offer investors the opportunity to participate in the growth of digital assets.

Chi-Won Yoon, Chairman of Diginex, said:

The Nasdaq listing demonstrates our commitment to bringing transparency and accountability to the digital assets industry. This should give investors greater assurance about the long-term growth and viability of this asset class.”

According to Diginex, the listing of Nasdaq is the result of its business combination transaction with 8i Enterprises Acquisition Corp, a Nasdaq-listed special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). This business combination transaction was approved at a Special Meeting of Shareholders on September 15, 2020.

As Crypto Economy reported, in July 2020, Diginex would be acquired by 8i Enterprises Acquisition Corp. The acquisition is now completed that includes Diginex group-wide businesses of, digital asset trading technology platform Diginex Access, digital asset custody provider Digivault, and the investment management business Bletchley Park Asset Management.

This acquisition means Diginex’s has become the first company listed on Nasdaq with a cryptocurrency exchange.

Diginex brings together a comprehensive ecosystem of financial services for digital assets. The ecosystem consists of a cryptocurrency exchange as well as an over-the-counter trading platform, an integrated trading platform Diginex Access, a securitization advisory service Diginex Capital, and a market leading hot and cold custodian Digivault.

The exchange is based in Singapore rather than Hong Kong, where it is currently operating under an exemption to the Singapore Payment Services Act. It offers cryptocurrency spot trading, perpetual swaps, dated futures, options, and other derivatives products to follow.
