TL;DR:
- Plume brings tokenized institutional funds to Solana through Nest, its yield distribution protocol for real-world assets.
- The integration with Perena allows Solana users to access private credit and other real-world assets from a native onchain banking platform.
- USD*, Perena’s flagship product, will allocate part of its backing to the vault curated by Nest on the Solana network.
Plume is expanding its reach on the Solana network through Nest, its yield distribution protocol for real-world assets (RWA). Through an integration with Perena, Solana’s native onchain banking platform, Nest is launching an RWA vault that connects users with private credit funds and other institutional instruments, without leaving the network.
USD*, Perena’s flagship product, will also allocate a portion of its backing to this vault curated by Nest. This way, Plume users will be able to generate yields from real credit markets directly from an onchain ecosystem.
From Stablecoins to Stablebanks
Stablecoins brought digital dollars onchain. Stablebanks go one step further: rather than simply preserving value, they are designed to allocate capital and enhance yields while maintaining stability, all natively onchain. Platforms like Perena with USD* are an example of that evolution: a digital dollar that can now participate in credit markets from the real world without ever leaving the chain.
Plume Turns to LayerZero
To support this expansion, Plume and Nest rely on the infrastructure of LayerZero, the leading cross-chain interoperability protocol. Through a native issuance mechanism via mint/burn, LayerZero enables institutional assets to be distributed to Solana securely, preserving a unified architecture and avoiding the liquidity fragmentation that traditional bridging models typically generate.
This architecture allows institutional yield strategies to scale across networks without relying on conventional bridges. Nest acts as the infrastructure layer connecting tokenized funds with different chains and protocols.
As new tokenized funds are added, Plume’s model enables greater diversification within Perena’s stablebank structure. Solana users will be able to move beyond operating with stable assets in simple transfers or DeFi strategies, and begin participating in real credit markets with institutional access.
