Mt. Gox has extended its creditor repayment deadline by another year, moving it from October 31, 2026, to October 31, 2027. In an October 16 notice, rehabilitation trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi confirmed that the new deadline received court approval, giving the defunct exchange additional time to process outstanding claims involving creditors of the former Bitcoin trading platform.
The trustee said base, early lump-sum and intermediate repayments have been largely completed for creditors who fulfilled the required procedures without encountering problems, with some payment categories excluded. However, many creditors are still waiting for repayment because they have not completed the necessary steps or experienced processing complications. The notice did not specify how many claims remain unsettled or the amount of cryptocurrency yet to be distributed.
The extension leaves another year for the trustee to address unresolved repayments where reasonably practicable. Creditors seeking updates or assistance can use the official rehabilitation claims system, which provides an inquiry form through its FAQ section. Meanwhile, Arkham Intelligence maintains an on-chain dashboard tracking wallets attributed to Mt. Gox, although wallet holdings alone do not establish how much remains payable to creditors.
