TL;DR:
- Morpho launched Agents in beta, an interface designed for AI agents to read, simulate, and write on its protocols.
- The launch includes two products: User Agent, with full access to Ethereum and Base, and Builder Agent, a knowledge base for developers.
- More than 130,000 AI agents have registered onchain identities since January, according to Dune data.
The onchainĀ AI agentsĀ ecosystem grew exponentially throughout 2025:Ā more than 130,000 agentsĀ registered identities on the blockchain since January, according to Dune Analytics data. That volume of autonomous activity on decentralized financial infrastructure ledĀ MorphoĀ to rethink whoāor whatāuses its lending protocols. Its response was theĀ launchĀ of Morpho Agents in beta, an access layer designed specifically for AI agents.
Morpho’s integration is still built for humans, whichĀ forces agents to operate under unnecessary constraints. The team identified this problem and framed it as an internal question:Ā can an AI agent complete a Morpho integration in a single attempt?Ā Agents is the ideal tool to make the answer yes.
Morpho Launches Two Products with One Goal
The launch includes two tools. The first isĀ User Agent, made up of aĀ command-line interface and an MCP serverĀ that gives any AI agentāClaude, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, and more than thirty additional platformsāfull read, simulate, and write access to Morpho’s protocols on Ethereum andĀ Base.
It is compatible with any wallet infrastructure, and every write operation goes through a simulation before execution. An agent can receive the instruction to deposit 10,000 USDC into the highest-yielding vault on Base, read real-time data, simulate the operation, build the transaction, and send it to the walletāwithout human intervention.
The second isĀ Builder Agent,Ā a protocol knowledge baseācalled AGENTS.mdāthatĀ turns any code agent into a Morpho integration expert. It covers the protocol’s conceptual model, contract addresses, edge cases, decision trees, and error recovery patterns.Ā What previously required a week of work with the SDK can now be completed in minutes.
Target Audience for Agents
Morpho Agents targetsĀ three profiles:Ā institutionsĀ and enterprisesĀ looking to incorporate lending infrastructure,Ā agent developersĀ building yield optimizers or risk monitors, andĀ teams developing savings and credit products. It is also aimed atĀ researchersĀ who want to explore markets and vaults without writing code.
The protocol’s permissionless lending infrastructureānon-custodial, composable, and with a bounded operational surfaceāis naturally suited for automation. The launch of this interface turns that suitability into a direct access path.
