Luxor Technology said that it expanded LuxOS firmware support to MicroBT’s WhatsMiner series and disclosed that MicroBT, through investment manager Inflection Technology Limited, has signed a term sheet for a strategic investment in Luxor. Luxor said it also committed to a $100 million purchase of MicroBT WhatsMiner hardware.

The move affects Bitcoin mining operators running WhatsMiner fleets, especially those seeking more control over performance and power management. Luxor said WhatsMiner users on LuxOS will gain features including Power Targeting, Advanced Thermal Management, safe rapid curtailment, and faster ramp-up times, with initial support covering select M50 series models. The company added that more than 300,000 mining machines already run LuxOS globally.

The next point to watch is the phased deployment of LuxOS for WhatsMiner. Luxor said it is onboarding a select group of mining partners directly and plans to expand model support over time, signaling that the rollout is live but still moving through a controlled implementation phase.
