Lido received the Web3SOC certification from Cantina, a firm specialized in security and the evaluation of DeFi protocols, following a targeted audit process that covered four domains: governance, financial resilience, security and infrastructure, and legal and compliance posture.
The certification follows the structural principles of standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, while also covering areas those traditional frameworks do not reach, including smart contracts, validator infrastructure, and key management.
The certificate joins the A+ ratings that stETH already holds within the risk frameworks of Staking Rewards and Credora, consolidating a set of independent references for institutional teams assessing protocol exposure, market risk, and DeFi risk.
With more than $21 billion in ETH deposited in Lido, stETH backs a regulated ETP on European exchanges, operates as collateral on institutional platforms, and is integrated across major custodians and centralized exchanges. The Web3SOC certification offers institutional evaluators a single structured document that replaces multiple dispersed review processes.
